In support of Ataxia UK

Ataxia UK

Ataxia UK is the national charity for everyone affected by ataxia, and has been in existence for over 40 years.

The charity’s mission is to support people affected by ataxia with research, information, welfare grants, campaigning and the opportunity to meet and help others in the same position. So what is Ataxia? - 'Ataxia' means ‘lack of order’. People with ataxia have problems with movement, balance, and speech. Over 10,000 people in the UK have a form of ataxia. There is currently no cure but Ataxia UK is working to find one every day.

In support of Reach

Reach

Reach is the Association for Children with Upper Limb Deficiency.

Each year, babies are born in the UK missing part of one or both arms and hands. Added to these are a small number of children who lose limbs or parts of limbs due to traumatic incidents or necessary surgery. For many of the families of these children it is the first time that they will have come across such a disability.

'Reach' aims to provide the affected families with the opportunity to get together, share experiences and information about what to do (or not to do) and where to go for advice regarding treatment and to help them realise that they are not alone.

Reach’s rather fabulous motto is ‘It's Ability not Disability that Matters’ – great stuff.
